October 2020 – Custom Easy in Action is a series that brings you real-world experience from Custom Easy product. And today, Custom Easy in Action Vol 4 will help you how to shoot with Raptor Z – Raptor ISO Arm.

Raptor Z – Raptor ISO Arm is the shock-absorbing arm which is a combination of the Raptor Z arm and the Raptor ISO. The Z arm adds smoothness on the pan axis. In contrast, the ISO adds on roll and pitch axis. Therefore, this combo supports 3-axis vibration isolator perfect for tracking vehicle shooting with most of the camera gimbal in the market like DJI Ronin 2, Freefly Systems Movi Pro, Movi XL or Shotover G1.

Do you know what’s in the box? And which you should purchase with Raptor Z – Raptor ISO?

Standard, the package includes Raptor Z arm with Single Spring, Dual Springs supports of 10 – 30kgs of payload and Raptor ISO V3. The filmmakers can install component via Mitchell-based easily.
However, to get the best shooting performance, we also recommend you some of the accessories for your purchase. That would be:
  • 200mm Extension to extend the life range of the arm as the standard lift range is 56cm only. In some case, it is not enough space for the camera gimbal movement.
  • 25kgs Vibration Isolator to remove high-frequency vibrations and dampens low-frequency oscillations. This one is added function for Raptor Z arm when you are working at high-speed on rough terrain.
  • Arm to Dual Mitchell which is optional front-mount Mitchell converter to switch over-slung and underslung quickly.
  • Arm to Male Mitchell which is back-mount Mitchell converter to install with dolly tracking or customized rigs via Mitchell-based.
Raptor Z arm and Raptor ISO could use together or individually, so they offer a variety of solutions for customers. What can you shoot with this combo? Let’s find out with us from real setups from customers.
