Which Raptor Rickshaw Dolly Option Is Right for You?
Custom Easy offers several configurations depending on production needs and budget.

Raptor Trike & Raptor Rickshaw 3.1
- These are ideal for rental houses and professional productions.
- They are designed to support a wide range of camera setups, making them suitable for frequent rentals and multi-purpose production environments.
- Depending on budget and workflow, customers typically choose between the Raptor Trike or Raptor Rickshaw 3.1 package.
Raptor Rickshaw Lite & Raptor Rickshaw Mini
- These models are more suitable for independent filmmakers and small crews.
- Both packages are:
- Compact
- Lightweight
- Easy to transport in personal vehicles
- Flight-friendly for international shoots
- They provide the flexibility of a portable rickshaw dolly system without the size of larger configurations.
Steadicam Cart Option
- The Steadicam Cart is designed specifically to help Steadicam operators move their rig efficiently during shooting.
- For this workflow, we often recommend the Raptor Rickshaw Lite – Travel Box package, which allows you to:
- Use it as a Steadicam cart
- Convert it into a Raptor Rickshaw dolly when needed
This dual-purpose design adds significant flexibility for fast-moving productions.
Since June 2025, all shipments have been updated to the Raptor Rickshaw 3.1 version. To understand why this update was introduced, please read more here.
Because the Raptor Rickshaw 3 and 3.1 share almost identical architecture, whenever we mention Raptor Rickshaw 3, the features, accessories, and setups are fully compatible with Raptor Rickshaw 3.1.
Why Do Filmmakers Choose the Raptor Rickshaw 3.1?
With many rickshaw dollies on the market, customers often ask why the Raptor Rickshaw 3.1 stands out.

The Heart of the Raptor Rickshaw Dolly System – Rickshaw Cheese Plate
At the core of the Raptor Rickshaw dolly system is the Rickshaw Cheese Plate. The plate measures 740 × 580 mm, providing enough space for:
- A Steadicam operator or camera operator to sit
- Mounting camera rigs
- Rigging dolly systems
- Mounting sliders or even compact cranes
On the Raptor Rickshaw 3, the Cheese Plate features a built-in Mitchell base, allowing quick integration with professional filmmaking equipment using the Mitchell standard.
In addition, the plate includes M8 and 3/8″ threaded holes arranged in a 2-inch matrix pattern, allowing filmmakers and grips to configure rigs with almost unlimited mounting possibilities.
This mounting concept continues the design philosophy used in:
- Mini Rickshaw Cheese Plate
- Custom Cheese Plate
- Universal Plate of the Universal Wheel Fender
Together, these components create a modular ecosystem for the Raptor Rickshaw dolly platform.

What are the differences between Raptor Rickshaw versions
1 – What are the differences between Raptor Rickshaw versions?
While the core functions remain similar across Raptor Rickshaw versions, there are significant structural differences, such as tube sizes and caster wheel dimensions. These differences make it impossible to mix components between Raptor Rickshaw 1, 2, or 3.
Here are the key distinctions:
- Between Raptor Rickshaw 1 & 2:
Both versions use the same 50mm tubes. However, Raptor Rickshaw 2 features larger caster wheels, upgraded from 8 inches in the first version to 10 inches, and includes built-in wheel locks. Additionally, version 2 supports a Mitchell mount on the Cheese Plate, a feature missing from the first version. - Between Raptor Rickshaw 1/2 and 3:
Raptor Rickshaw 3 introduces a complete shift to 48.3mm (1 1/2″) tube size. It also adds a pull bar while retaining the updated features of version 2, such as the enhanced Cheese Plate and upgraded caster wheels.
2 – Can I upgrade my Raptor Rickshaw 1 or 2 to version 3?
Upgrading components from Raptor Rickshaw 1 or 2 to version 3 is not straightforward due to structural differences. However, you may consider updating individual features or accessories.
